Massage

Whether from work-related tension or the stress of daily activities, our muscles are often clenched, knotted and stiff.  This can in turn affect our physical and emotional well-being.  Massage is performed to relieve stress and improve day-to-day performance by relaxing muscles, stimulating circulation and promoting a refreshed, rejuvenated mood.  A trained therapist applies pressure to the tense area or areas; commonly massaged areas include the face, scalp, shoulders, back, arms, legs, hands and feet.  We also offer specialty massages such as Thai massage, cranio-sacral techniques, prenatal massage for the expectant mother, and massage techniques using hot stones or warm bamboo reeds.  (Thai massage is a whole-body technique that combines gentle stretches and yoga-inspired poses.)

Reiki

Many ancient cultures embraced the belief that life energy flows through the body, affecting our entire being.  Disruptions or imbalances in its flow correlate to physical, mental, and emotional illness.  The healing art of Reiki (pronounced “RAY-key”) addresses these imbalances to support your good health and well-being.  Benefits include a heightened sense of well-being, release of painful muscle tension, and relief from anxiety and depression.  Our certified Reiki practioner would be happy to help you improve your health and relaxation.
